Blue Rock Springs (west) is a fun place to play at! No complaints about this location. Nice and cool, smooth and a bit fast greens, well-kept fairways, good layouts, etc. Definitely on NCGAD radar for future tournaments!!!
For scoring – NCGAD uses “double par plus one” method. For example: par 3 – the highest score you should put down on the scorecard is 7 (double par is 6 plus 1 = 7) regardless if your actual score is higher than that. Keep that in mind when scoring and that’s why some scores are different than expected due to that change.
2 match plays games were held today and both were close. John Hayes defeated Eric Kunze by the score of 2 and 1 with a chip-in off the green on 17th to win the match outright! In the other match, Jose Sermeno beat Ron Bye 1 up by winning the 18th hole so both games were close. We have had 3 match games completed so far and all of them were within 1 or 2 holes at the end. HC sure works on leveling the playing field. More match plays coming up in the near future.
